About Me

I'm Liz Mercuri, horror game aficionado and Final Fantasy VIII expert! Currently a Senior Account Manager , I was previously a Developer Relations Manager at Unity and Marketing Intern with Warner Bros.

In 2014, I was gratefully awarded a Prince William Scholarship, a partnership between BAFTA & Warner Bros. This enabled me to study an MSc in Computer Game Software Development at Sheffield Hallam University.

In 2016, I was featured in Develop's 30 Under 30 & I attended GDC in San Francisco with Microsoft as part of their Game Changers (Women in Games) Initiative.

Highlights of my career so far include the incredible opportunity to speak at the Education Summit at GDC 2017, having the honour of being a jury member for the BAFTA Games Awards in 2016 - 2020 and hosting Unity Keynote Livestreams.

I am grateful to be part of such an innovative and inspiring industry and incredibly thankful for the support and opportunity I’ve recieved on my journey so far.

As a member of the BAFTA Games Committee, I realise the importance of empowering developers, instilling confidence and promoting diversity in the game development community. I have worked with key initiatives to empower the next generation of game development talent through mentoring, facilitating student game jams, delivering talks and technical demonstrations. I fiercely believe in the elevation of underrepresented teams, bringing new perspectives and telling stories often untold. This not only enriches the industry but encourages a more diverse consumer reach and presses reset on the publics' perception of video games.
